Changelog

Changelog

A record of recent editorial maintenance, guide updates, safety improvements, and general housekeeping. Grouped rather than dated, because most updates here are small and ongoing.

Recent guide maintenance

  • Refined the introduction on the wallet safety guide so the seed-phrase warning sits closer to the top of the page.
  • Tightened wording across the investor safety guide to keep the urgency and recovery-scam sections more parallel.
  • Smoothed the transitions on the New York regulation guide so the BitLicense framework section reads in one pass.
  • Removed sentences that did not earn their length on several learning pages.

Safety note improvements

  • Standardised the format of the risk note that appears at the bottom of the safety pages so it reads consistently.
  • Added a short reminder about address-swap and clipboard scams to the wallet safety guide.
  • Reworked the privacy section in the meetup guide to focus on practical habits rather than abstract advice.

New York regulation page updates

  • Clarified the difference between licensed and unlicensed services without overstating either category.
  • Added a short note that licensing is a floor and not a ceiling.
  • Linked the regulator’s published materials more clearly from the relevant section.

Glossary refinements

  • Cleaned the entries for hot wallet, cold storage, custodial, and self-custody so they read as a coherent set.
  • Added an entry for "test transaction" to align with the safety guidance on first sends to a new address.
  • Tightened the entries on Bitcoin (capitalised) and bitcoin (lowercase) to reduce confusion in writing.

Community guide housekeeping

  • Reframed the community page to be clearer that the site does not run any local meetups, conferences, or membership groups.
  • Adjusted the events guide to focus on evergreen evaluation criteria rather than time-sensitive listings.
  • Reordered the meetup guide so the personal-safety section sits before the example-question section.

Site-wide editorial pass

  • Removed phrasing that implied uncertain claims more confidently than the source supported.
  • Reworked the homepage so the learning paths section is reachable in fewer scroll steps.
  • Consolidated the safety, FAQ, and listing pages so the same internal links are not repeated unnecessarily across them.

How updates are handled

Most edits to this site are small. Wording is tightened, links are corrected, examples are refreshed, and sections are reordered to read better. Larger structural changes are rare and are reflected in the relevant section above. If you spot a factual issue, please send a note through the contact page.
